Keys and access
We hold your keys and let in trades, deliveries and guests. In the village that also means being the person who can actually get a van near the door and knows when.

Castell d'Aro is the old village of the municipality, inland from the beach and built around its castle on a low hill. Houses here are more likely to be lived in than let, and what they need from us is steadier and quieter than what the coast needs.

Castell d'Aro stands on a hill of about forty metres, some three kilometres back from the sea, and it is the historic heart of the municipality it shares with Platja d'Aro and S'Agaró. Around 2,100 people live in it. The castle of Benedormiens at the top is first documented in 1041, when it was entrusted to the monks of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, and although fires in 1462 and 1879 took most of the medieval fabric it is now restored and used for exhibitions.
Around the village the Vall d'Aro opens out, drained by the Ridaura, and the old scattered farmsteads that used to work it have largely been absorbed into residential building. That mix is what makes Castell d'Aro different to manage. You get restored village houses on narrow streets with no parking, newer villas on the valley edge with real gardens, and a few masos that are simply large old buildings with everything that implies.
We hold your keys, inspect on an agreed rhythm, go out after bad weather when you ask us to, and repair with our own team. Village houses tend to need attention to damp, roofs and old services. Valley houses need garden and pool. We tell you which of the two you have bought, and price the round accordingly rather than selling everyone the same package.
This is a small place with quite distinct parts, and the distinction is not cosmetic. It determines whether we can park outside your door, whether there is a garden to keep, and what breaks first.
Castell d'Aro village
The medieval core on its hill, with the castle at the top and narrow streets below it. Restored stone houses, thick walls, and the maintenance list of an old building: roofs, damp, and services that were put in long after the house was. Access for a van is the practical constraint here.
Fanals d'Aro
One of the old farmstead areas of the valley, now largely taken over by residential building. A mix of ages and plot sizes on the same road, with gardens big enough to need real work rather than a strimmer twice a year.
Fanals d'Amunt
The upper part of the same old settlement, further from the coast road and quieter for it. Detached houses on their own land, and the sort of place where an empty winter genuinely means empty.
Vall d'Aro
The valley floor along the Ridaura, farmland and scattered houses rather than an urbanisation proper. Rain behaves differently down here than it does on the slopes, and it is worth us knowing your ground before the first hard autumn.
Mas Nou and the golf sit on the hillside just above the village, and the S'Agaró coast is a few minutes the other way. We cover all of it from the same round.

Damp, roof, gutters and the state of the services, checked on the schedule we agree, and again after heavy rain whenever you ask for it. Short report, photographs when there is something worth showing you.
Our own team for the upkeep and for the work. Quotes before anything of any size, and no work started on an assumption about what you would have wanted.

Tell us what you have and how often you are here. We will come back with a plan sized to the house rather than to our price list.
